We are hiring!

Fancy donning your wellies in summer 2012 and helping us take great cinema to the people?

We are recruiting a Producer and Production Assistant to aid in taking The Lost Picture Show on tour to 3 great music festivals (and maybe a few more).

UPDATE 17 April 2012: The deadline has passed, but we’re still sorting through the applications and arranging interviews, so if you just heard about these jobs, please feel free to drop us a line – we’ll be needing plenty more people over the summer, so even if these particular roles are filled, still many more chances to get involved. If you feel you fit some of the attributes listed below, it would be great to hear from you.

Producer:

You are: super-humanly organised, business-literate, and experienced in running and promoting events. Where you see chaos you long to impose order.

You would: take overall control of the running of the project, working closely with the director and programmer; manage the budget; oversee marketing/PR/promotion; recruit further team members where neccesary; assist in long-term planning.

Terms: 3 days/week from mid-April to end Sept (flexible for the right candidate), working from our office in Dalston, East London. Pay dependent on experience.

Deadline for applications: 13 April

To apply: Email CV and brief statement outlining your interest to jobs@lostpictureshow.org

Production assistant:

To aid in all aspects of organising our festival tour this summer. Including: event planning, social media/marketing, programming, fundraising.

You would be available to work part time between April and the end of our tour in September, based primarily at our office in Dalston, East London. Ideally you’d also be available to come and assist with running the venue at all the festivals (see here for dates). You may have some experience working in film/arts events, but enthusiasm, intelligence and initiative are the most important characteristics for this role. It would also help if your idea of fun is wading in mud, taking great cinema to the people!

We run not-for-profit and on a shoe-string budget so this is an unpaid volunteer position. However, we will keep you well fed, cover all travel expenses and of course you’ll get free entry to the festivals. If you’re interested in film, arts or events, this is a great opportunity to get hands-on involvement in a project from planning right through to production, working with a small, dedicated, collaborative and friendly team on a production that gets an amazing reception wherever it goes. And, of course, you’d be spending the summer touring some of the best festivals in the country…

To apply: Email jobs@lostpictureshow.org by April 13. Please include:

- CV or summary of experience
- details of your availability over the summer
- a brief statement outlining your interest in the project
- where you heard about us/the job

Please spread the word to anyone who might be interested in either role. We look forward to hearing from you…
