Movies, mud and madness – The Lost Picture Show needs you!
Fancy joining our merry band this year to take our glorious picture palace on tour to some of the best festivals in the land?
We are looking for set build crew and cafe/bar staff to join the team this summer, starting at beginning of June.
Build crew: vast experience is not a requirement, but you should have some aptitude with wood and power tools and be prepared to work as part of a team to create something quite beautiful out of practically nothing in the middle of a field. It’s hard work in the set-up, but once it’s up, the festival is yours to play. We run on a shoe-string budget so these are volunteer roles, but your travel will be paid and you will be well fed and watered/cidered. And of course, entry to the festivals.
Build crew typically go on site 3 days before the festival opens and stay a day after for the breakdown. We are also intending a rebuild of various elements of the tent this year, so if you have availability to help out with that in London during some of July and August, that’d be an advantage.
Cafe/bar staff: some cafe/bar experience is a plus, but a friendly attitude and ability to keep our visitors happy and amused are also important. That said, we are particularly keen to recruit a few people who have experience in bar/cafe at a management level to be shift leaders, with increased perks. Our shift patterns are less onerous than most festival bars/cafes so more time for fun and food is provided when you’re on shift.
For all staff, we have a well-equipped backstage area with barbecue, cooking facilities, fridges etc, so in addition to the food we provide, you are welcome to cook on site and keep your beers chilled – makes for a far cheaper and more luxurious festival experience than going as a punter. We are a small, very friendly team with a bit of a family feel, it’s basically a for-the-love project, and it always gets an amazing response from visitors, so tends to be a lot of fun to work on.

No Direction Home – 8-10 June
Shambala – 23-27 August
Bestival – 6-9 September
+ others to be confirmed
You don’t need to be available for all dates, but priority given to people who are ready to get stuck in at No Direction Home.
