Just popped up at Shambala Festival
With only a handful of hours remaining until Shambala Festival 2011 opens to the public, our busy construction crew are working hard to transform this sub-standard white marquee into a glorious picture palace of pure luxury and indulgence.
We are to become Havana’s finest cinema once again, with a bar serving rum-based cocktails and a striking Latin-American-inspired frontage. If you are at the festival, be sure to come and say hello, grab a mojito, kick back in our decadent cocktail lounge and enjoy our programme of classic cinema, cutting-edge documentaries, artists’ shorts, animation and workshops.
Our film programme will take on a life of its own each day, covering four different themes: South of the Border, Bringing Home Blighty, Revolution and Myths, Fairytales & Odysseys. As well as screening a multitude of cult movies and archive films, we are thrilled to be providing a platform for several film-based groups and organisations, including Straight 8, 7-Inch Cinema, Curzon, Lux, Whirlygig Cinema, The Cabinet of Living Cinema and the Just Do It team.
We will be open Thursday to Sunday, from 11am to 5am most days. Find us on the north side of the festival, next to Hurly Burly.
