Preparing our return to Shambala
And so we prepare our return to the magical and mysterious land of Shambala; the place where imagination and creativity roams free and nothing is beyond ridiculous. We certainly can’t wait to be a part of that creativity in two and half weeks, with our enveloping interior, diverse film programming and brand new frontage straight from the fields of Cuban Glastonbury.
Shambalians will be able to relax on the sumptuous velvet seating, served popcorn by uniformed usherettes, grab a Mojito from the decadent cocktail lounge – and enjoy classic cinema, cutting-edge documentaries, shorts, animation and workshops.
Each day will have its own theme: Thursday encompasses all things South of the Border, where we journey back to Latin America to savour its cinematic delights. Friday is Best of Blighty day, celebrating the best in British film. Revolution! is the message for Saturday, when our programme will take on a sideways look at revolution and politics in film. And on the last day of the festival we will be presenting our fantastical Myths, Fairytales and Odysseys programme, where our cinematic content will stretch from ancient history to the far corners of the cosmos.
The programme remains under wraps until the doors open, but if you’d like a sneak peak before the festival sign up to our newsletter. Keep an eye out for latest news on Facebook and Twitter.
