Made in Shambala: 16mm short films

Last summer at Shambala, we hosted the lovely people from Curzon CineKids, running a hands-on workshop where Shambalians could create their very own film masterpiece.

Inspired by artist film-maker Len Lye, visitors scratched, drew and painted directly onto 16mm celluloid. Over the weekend, children and adults produced 13,000 individually painted frames which have been edited together to create these two short films, with live soundtracks by The Cabinet of Living Cinema.

Drop us a comment on Facebook here or here if you spot your handiwork.

Thanks to Curzon CineKids for the amazing workshop and Shambala festival for hosting Lost Picture Show for a 2nd year. Thanks also to no.w.here for the telecine.
